Lyubov Dzhurinskaya is your personal russian speaking guide in Vienna. As a certified art historian, fashion designer and licensed guide in Austria, I turn the city into a living story. For over 20 years, Vienna has been revealing its secrets to me. Therefore, my private tours combine art, history, fashion, wine and hidden places in an informal and honest way.
Personal Guide in Vienna with Art History and Fashion Background
My name is Lyubov, and I feel equally at home with very different themes. For example, we can discuss Freemason symbols on old façades, the cut of an 18th-century dress, Freudian psychology, Viennese Modernism, Baroque, Historicism, art and history. However, for me these are not separate subjects. Instead, they are parts of one living story.
In my youth, I studied fashion design for five years. At first, I thought I would sew clothes. Later, I received a second degree in art history. After that, I studied at the University of Vienna and at the Austrian Institute for Economic Promotion (WIFI). In the end, these two paths came together in my tours in Vienna.
Over 20 Years in Vienna — And Still Not Tired of It
After more than 20 years in Vienna, I know the city from the inside. For example, I know the coffeehouse that still serves strudel from a 1910 recipe. I also know where magnolias bloom in spring, which heurigers Beethoven visited and which cabarets Klimt and Schiele loved. In addition, I know the discreet addresses connected with imperial legends.
That is why I am convinced: art and history are not boring. They are about us — desire, money, power, fear, beauty and ambition. However, people often present these subjects as something dry and distant. I speak differently.
Why Choose Me as Your Personal Guide in Vienna
I am not a formal lecturer. Rather, I am a storyteller, cultural interpreter and friendly provocateur. My author tours in Vienna in Russian are not monologues. Instead, they are conversations. Together, we search for Freemason traces on old walls, argue about Schiele and decide whether Sisi was really as perfect as her portraits suggest.
Do you want intellectual Vienna tours with a spark? Then come along. We will think, laugh and notice hidden details. As a result, you will see Vienna from an unexpected angle.
Diplomas and License
I hold a state license to conduct tours in Austria and EU countries. In addition, I am a member of the Austrian Guides’ Union at the Austrian Economic Chamber and the Association of Licensed Viennese Guides. Additionally, I completed a course at the Austrian Wine Academy. So yes, I also love wine professionally.
Let’s Meet in Vienna
On my tours, there are no crowds, no gallop through the city and no pointing at paintings with a stick. Instead, I show Vienna the way people show it to old friends: informally, honestly and with pleasure.
